What is Neurofunctional Acupuncture? It is a precise peripheral nerve stimulation technique, in which fine solid, sterile, single-use acupuncture needles are inserted into anatomically defined neurofunctional sites, and stimulated manually or with electroacupuncture for the therapeutic purpose of balancing the nervous system and/or the endocrine, exocrine and immune systems, acute and/or chronic pain syndromes, functional problems/diseases. Cosmetic acupunctue is also referred to as facial rejuventation acupuncture. It is a method of acupuncture that focuses specifically on an aesthetic condition of the patient, usually concerning the face.

It involves strategically inserting ultra-thin, single use, sterilized acupuncture needles into different areas of the skin on the face and body with the aim of stimulating blood flow and balancing the body's "Qi"(which, when translated, means "vital energy" in Traditional Chinese Medicine).

Holistic facial cosmetic acupuncture can be used instead of "botox" or other rejuvenation injections or it can also enhance and increaese the therapeutic effects and duration of such injections.

Best results are achieved weekly for approx. 8-10 weeks then monthly for maintenance - treaments are personalized based on the clients needs

The technique employs micropigmentation of the skin as a means of producing designs that resemble makeup, such as eye-liner and lip tinting. Microblading and/or a powder brow techniques can darken, reshape and create the look of thicker eyebrows.

These are highlly sought after cosmetic techniques which last up to 2 years. A "touch-up" within 6-8 weeks may be required following the intital treament for a lesser fee.

Sandy is a Holistic Health Nurse with a background in Contemporary Medical and Neurofunctional Acupuncture and has also studied Traditional Chinese Acupuncture including Auricular Acupuncture in the past..

Sandy has practiced not only mainstream medicine in nursing throughout the lifespan, from pediatrics to the elderly but also has a long history in holistic medicine, making her a Complementary Health Practitioner.

Sandy has been a Nurse Educator and has also been a facilitator for Stanford University’s Chronic Pain Self-Management Program for many years and is a Diabetes Educator.
